Team Members and Partners

The team that created the GCAA® consists of distinguished scholars, business executives with extensive international experience, an executive recruiting specialist for global corporations, and assessment development and validation experts. Some of the team members are mentioned below:

Christi Hunter, M.S.

Christianna (“Christi”) Hunter is the President of Global Competence Associates, LLC where she works to assess, prepare, and enhance the global workforce of tomorrow. She is a primary author of the Global Competence Aptitude Assessment (GCAA)®, which is a diagnostic tool that measures the global readiness of students and working professionals, and then determines areas that would benefit from additional development. She conducts global competence research, training, and certification programs, and she provides consultation to support global competence development across education, business, government, and nonprofit sectors for worldwide clients. Ms. Hunter has been training students and working professionals in global competence and diversity appreciation since 2004.

Ms. Hunter’s expertise was sought as the sole Americas contributor to the Course Advisory Board for the “Working Globally Certificate” for the European Union/Australian Joint Cooperation in Higher Education Project, as part of Australia’s Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations. In addition, as an invited contributor, she has written two book chapters regarding global competence and its assessment. Previously Ms. Hunter worked for major global corporations, directly within Research and Development, and also as a professionally certified search consultant. While at Mars, she partnered internationally to develop and launch products for global brands such as DOVE® Chocolate and M&M’s®. She later worked as an executive recruiter for Management Recruiters International, MRINetwork, which is one of the largest and most successful recruiting firms in the world, where she recruited globally competent candidates as desired by her multinational corporate clients. With the goal of increasing readiness for the needs of the interconnected global economy at all levels, Ms. Hunter has provided career development and job placement coaching to students and employees interested in elevating their employment marketability. She has also assisted companies in building effective and capable organizations through her talent acquisition services and consultation to departments such as Human Resources, Sales, R&D, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, and Engineering. She holds a B.S. degree from the Pennsylvania State University and an M.S. degree from Kansas State University, both in the USA.

Timothy Habick, Ph.D.

Timothy Habick, Ph.D. is an assessment design expert and linguist and he has over 20 years of professional experience in the testing industry. While at Educational Testing Service (ETS), he served as the test development coordinator for the Graduate Record Examination (GRE®) General Test and he also wrote questions for the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT®) and Law School Admission Test (LSAT®). He joined the Reasoning and Measurement group at Educational Testing Service ETS in 1987, where he later served as the Reasoning Group leader. In 2000, he formed Reasoning, Inc. a test development company that has completed contracts for ETS, the Law School Admission Council, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, CTB/McGraw-Hill, the American Board for the Certification of Teacher Excellence, the College Board, Measured Progress, the American Institutes for Research, and other major testing organizations.

Dr. Habick earned a Ph.D. degree in Linguistics from the University of Illinois, Urbana (1980). He taught Linguistics and English at several universities including, La Salle University, Temple University, and Tianjin Normal University in China. He travels frequently internationally and has led many educational tours to China and Japan. In 2007, he completed a World Bank mission to improve standardized testing in the country of Moldova.
